Warehouse Line Marking.

Professional floor marking for warehouses, factories and logistics sites across the UK — segregating people from traffic and keeping working areas clear, safe, and efficient.

C&R delivers professional warehouse line marking for industrial and logistics sites across the UK — helping you create clear, well-managed workspaces that improve safety, support compliance, and keep operations moving, from pedestrian segregation and forklift routes to racking layouts and loading areas.

With over 30 years' experience, our team installs durable, high-visibility floor markings designed for demanding environments. Whether you're refreshing faded lines, reconfiguring a layout, or marking out a new facility, we provide a complete service — from surface preparation and specification advice through to precise application and a clean, documented finish.

Our specialists work around your shift patterns and operational constraints to minimise downtime, maintain access where possible, and deliver a clean, professional finish that performs under daily wear.

Our expertise

Tailored solutions for every
working environment.

We understand the realities of live warehouse and factory settings — heavy traffic, tight turnaround times, changing layouts and high safety expectations. Every project is planned to balance durability, clarity, and day-to-day practicality.

Floor colour guide

What the floor-marking colours mean.

A good warehouse scheme uses colour so the floor reads at a glance — where to walk, where to drive, and what to keep clear. These are the conventions most UK sites follow, often as part of a 5S system.

Yellow

Pedestrian walkways, aisles, and general traffic routes.

White

Storage bays, equipment outlines, and operational areas.

Red

Fire-safety equipment and emergency keep-clear zones.

Green

First-aid points and designated safe zones.

Black & yellow

High-risk hazards and obstructions to take care around.

There's no single legal standard for warehouse floor colours — these are widely-used conventions, not law. We'll set up a scheme that suits how your site actually runs, and keep it consistent throughout.

Quick self-check

Is your warehouse floor working as hard as it should?

Run through these in your head. They're the things that keep people safe and traffic moving — and the things an inspector looks for. If you can't tick them all, they're exactly what we'd put right.

  • Pedestrian walkways are clearly separated from forklift and vehicle routes.

  • Crossing points are marked where people and traffic have to meet.

  • Every walkway, aisle and bay line can still be read clearly — nothing faded.

  • Fire exits, fire equipment and keep-clear zones are marked and unobstructed.

  • Hazards and level changes are flagged with hazard markings.

  • The floor itself is sound, with markings bonded and not lifting.

Couldn't tick them all? That's a normal place to start — tell us what your floor looks like and we'll advise on what, if anything, needs doing.

FAQs

Answered before
you ask.

The questions procurement, estates and facilities teams ask us most often.

How durable are warehouse floor markings?
It depends on the material, the traffic the floor takes, and how well the surface was prepared. Forklift traffic is far harder on markings than foot traffic, so we use durable resin systems such as epoxy and MMA rather than ordinary paint in those areas. Good preparation and the right material are what keep markings crisp and readable for longer. We recommend the right specification for how each zone is used.
Which material is best for warehouse line marking?
It depends on the floor and the traffic. For internal warehouse floors we typically use hard-wearing resin systems — MMA for fast-cure, cold-tolerant work that reopens the same shift, and epoxy where a tougher bonded line is needed under heavy forklift traffic. Ordinary paint fades and lifts quickly under that kind of wear, so we match the material to how each zone is actually used.
What colours should warehouse floor markings be?
There's no single legal colour scheme, but consistency is what makes markings work. Most UK sites follow widely-used conventions — yellow for walkways and traffic routes, white for storage and operational areas, red for fire safety and keep-clear zones, green for first aid, and black-and-yellow for hazards. We set out a clear, site-specific scheme and keep it consistent across teams, shifts and any later changes so the floor stays easy to read.
Can you mark our warehouse without stopping operations?
In most cases, yes. We plan work around your shift patterns and can mark in phases so the facility keeps running, maintaining access where possible. Fast-curing materials let us reopen areas quickly — often within the same shift — which keeps disruption to a minimum on live sites.
Do you prepare the floor before marking?
Yes. Good preparation is what makes floor markings last. We clean and, where needed, mechanically prepare the surface — including shot blasting — to create the right profile for strong adhesion, so the lines bond properly and stay crisp instead of lifting under traffic.
