Line marking removal and surface preparation
Industrial floor cleaning and preparation
You need to look after your floor if you want it to withstand heavy machinery and footfall. Our skilled technicians are experienced in cleaning and shot blasting – the two most important parts of surface preparation.
Removing dirt, grime, lichen, and dust is essential before you apply a surface coating or line markings. If you don’t prepare the surface first, the line marking paint will adhere to the loose particles rather than the floor, peeling off quicker.
We use a range of cleaning and surface preparation techniques suitable for the job. With over three decades of experience, we know what works. We’ve developed the UK’s first ride-on shot blaster so we can cover large areas to a high standard quickly.

Line marking removal
If your existing line marking is outdated, it’s flaking off, or you want to change the layout of your workspace, then removing it needs to be job number one. We offer line marking removal using techniques like pressure washing and shot blasting.
Commercial pressure washing is ideal for getting rid of flaky line markings and preparing the surface for white lining. It removes loose particles like dirt, dust, lichen, and grime, an important part of surface preparation.
We also use shot blasting to professionally remove old floor graphics and white lines ready for surface coating and re-painting. For large areas, shot blasting can save you time and money compared with other techniques that take longer.
Surface preparation
Our skilled technicians at C&R have years of experience using various surface preparation and maintenance techniques. We cover the whole process from beginning to end, starting with pressure washing and shot blasting.
Whether replacing existing lines or having your floors painted for the first time, you must prepare the surface professionally. If the loose particles aren’t cleared away first, the paint is unlikely to bond to the floor’s surface, and your markings will need replacing sooner.
We offer a one-stop service for cleaning, surface preparation and line marking, and we can put together bespoke packages on request.
